Session description: Critic Donald David has argued in a very important book that Thomas Hardy has been the most influential British poet in the twentieth century. In this presentation, Dr. Russell Greer will survey the achievement of Thomas Hardy in poetry, highlighting special poems and groups of poems that have achieved great success, and surveying key critical approaches by scholars.
