Just in time for Halloween, witches and ghosts will haunt the Campus Theatre stage with Denton Community Theatre's production of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. This classic tale of greed and murder is directed by Julie Brinker. The tale, often referred to as “The Scottish Play,” will be enacted in a traditional format with the action taking place in the 11th century. However, Brinker has pared the piece down for modern audiences by taking out political and cultural references that were only relevant in Shakespeare’s time. This production will excite Shakespeare aficionados and provide a thrilling introduction for novices to the Bard. Due to intense onstage violence, this production may not be suitable for audience members under age eight.
