Keep Denton Beautiful, Inc. (KDB) will host the Annual Community Tree Giveaway on Saturday, October 26. In celebration of National Make a Difference Day, KDB will distribute 1,000 free trees to pre-registered Denton residents. Available trees include: Burr Oak, Blackjack Oak, Chinkapin Oak, Loblolly Pine, Mexican Plum, Texas Ash, and Texas Redbud.
Only individuals who have pre-registered will be permitted to pick up a tree on event day. Pre-registration will be available through the KDB website at www.kdb.org beginning Monday, September 23. There is a maximum of 1 tree per household.
Trees and urban forests contribute to healthier, safer, more vibrant cities and towns. They bestow a variety of economic benefits for both businesses and individuals, and they are key to long-term, sustainable community development. KDB offers the Community Tree GiveAway program to provide Denton residents with the resources they need to help enhance Denton's urban forest, making a better community for us all.
Keep Denton Beautiful is accepting corporate sponsorships, volunteers, and in-kind donations for this event. Please contact Lauren Barker, KDB Program Manager, at lauren@kdb.org for more information.
The Community Tree Giveaway is sponsored by Devon Energy, Denton Municipal Electric, the City of Denton Solid Waste Department, Beazer Homes, the City of Denton Parks & Recreation Department, The Denton Record-Chronicle, the City of Denton Beneficial Reuse, and Sleepin-Dogs.com Website Designs.
