Jim Fykes is chamber's chief voluntary officer for 2017-18

James G. Fykes, III, (Jim), the Project Manager at Peterbilt Motors, began his term as Board Chair of the Denton Chamber on April 1, 2017.
       
        Jim has been on the chamber’s board the past six years, serving on the Executive Committee as head of the Economic Development Division.   
 
        He succeeds Glenn T. Carlton, Executive Director of the North Texas Fair Association.  Erik Clark, a benefits consultant with Wellspring Insurance has shifted from head of the chamber’s Membership Development Division to Board Chair-Elect.
 
        The board appointed Carrell Ann Simmons, with Stan’s Flooring, to a second one-year to serve as Treasurer.   Local attorney, former Mayor and Chamber Board Chair Mark Burroughs was re-appointed to head the Government Relations Division.
 
        Other division officers serving on the Executive Committee include:  Monica Glenn, Co-Owner of Best Western Premier Crown Chase, Amanda Oringderff, a commercial loan officer at First United Bank and Rick Wick, at Classic Chrysler Jeep Dodge Mazda.
 
        Monica will serve as Vice Chair of the Board over the chamber’s Special Initiatives & Events Division.  Amanda will be over the chamber’s Economic Development Division.  Rick will be in charge of the chamber’s Membership Development Division.
 
        Bob Moses, co-owner of Beth Marie’s, was re-appointed Chair of the chamber’s Convention & Visitor Bureau Advisory Board.  Orlando Hinojosa, with the Denton County Sheriff’s Department, was confirmed to head the chamber’s Leadership Denton Steering Committee.
 
        Former Board Chairs Larry Parker and Marty Rivers will continue as the chamber’s voting representative on the joint Economic Development Partnership Board.  Larry is co-owner of The Denton Depot.  Marty is with First State Bank.
