The History of Kolache Haven
Kolache Haven, a sister company to Candy Haven in Denton, opened their door on December 21, 2007 at 301 North Interstate 35 East. The aroma of fresh bread makes mouths water on impact. Owner, Mike Boyle, a food ingredient salesman for over 25 years, not only developed the recipes, but arrives at 3:30 a.m. every morning to bake fresh product for customers to enjoy. Fourteen varieties of fruit Kolaches, gooey cinnamon rolls, strudels, bagels, and Apple Pull-a-Parts make deciding on a flavor difficult for any Kolache connoisseur. It doesn't stop there. Boyle uses quality sausage to make over a dozen meat Kolaches, ranging from spicy to mild. Breakfast Kolaches with various meats, cheeses and eggs are becoming favorite breakfast fare for many customers. Kolaches aren't just for breakfast anymore. Boyle has developed some melt-in-your-mouth lunch Kolaches, along with some wonderful sandwich choices. Baking is not new to Mike Boyle, who graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Baking Science Engineering. He developed the cake recipes for the Candy Haven in the early eighties. Recipes that have kept customers coming back for years. Boyle plans on a repeat performance for the Kolache Haven. Orders can be placed for customer pick up, by calling (940) 565-9700, or customers can come in a hand select their favorite choices.
The bakery is located on the southbound service road of Interstate 35, just south of Fort Worth Drive.
