Job Description
North Central Texas College is accepting applications for a Fire Science Instructor:  Corinth, Texas; Full-Time, Benefits Eligible
The purpose of this position is to teach college courses in designated Fire Science programs while ensuring completion of program goal and objectives as listed in current curriculum.  Use current skills and knowledge to promote student learning and active participation while preparing students for the First Responder world.  Provide related services, such as academic advising, committee participation, professional development, community development and others as needed.
  • A.A.S. in Fire Science: or any Bachelors degree and 5 years career fire department experience required
  • Must be current Texas Commission of Fire Protection Certified Firefighter
  • Must be current Texas Commission of Fire Protection Certified Fire Instructor II
  • Must be current Texas Commission of Fire Protection Field Examiner
  • 5 years fire department experience required.
  • Community College experience preferred.
    Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences
  • Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
    Physical Demands:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and campus hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday, 8am-noon.  Successful candidate must maintain office hours as required by Division. 
Travel maybe required to other off-site locations.  Subject to criminal background check.  Resume, Cover Letter, & Transcripts required in addition to application.
